{"id":347,"date":"2016-08-10T19:51:18","date_gmt":"2016-08-10T23:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.juliafreeman.ca\/blog\/?p=347"},"modified":"2016-08-10T21:24:49","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T01:24:49","slug":"home-sales-move-off-of-record-breaking-pace-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juliafreeman.ca\/blog\/2016\/08\/home-sales-move-off-of-record-breaking-pace-in-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Home sales move off of record-breaking pace in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Metro Vancouver homes sales resembled more typical levels in July.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) reports that residential property sales in the region totalled 3,226 in July 2016, a decrease of 18.9 per cent from the 3,978 sales recorded in July 2015 and a decrease of 26.7 per cent compared to June 2016 when 4,400 homes sold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>This is the first time since January that home sales in the region have registered below 4,000 in a month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAfter several months of record-breaking sales activity, home buyer demand returned to more historically normal levels in July,\u201d Dan Morrison, REBGV president said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last month\u2019s sales were 6.5 per cent above the 10-year sales average for the month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cHome sale activity showed some moderating signs in late June and this carried into July,\u201d Morrison said. \u201cWe\u2019ll wait and watch over the next few months to see if this marks the return of more normal market trends,\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Download the complete stats package <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rebgv.ca\/content\/dam\/REBGV\/Documents\/Statistics\/Residential\/Media%20Stats%20Package\/2016\/2016-07-July-Stats-Package\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Credit REBGV<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Metro Vancouver homes sales resembled more typical levels in July.
